Kathy Kerstetter, MSN, RN, ACNP-C
Chief Executive Officer

Kathy joined Acuity Specialty Hospital in 2013 as Chief Clinical Officer. She served as a Trauma Nurse Practitioner with AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for a number of years. She has more than 25 years of clinical experience in tertiary acute care. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Nursing as well as an Advanced Practice Nurse Certification from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She lives in Ventnor City, New Jersey, with her husband, Bob, and two huskies, Marshall and Dusty.  She is the proud mother of three daughters: Annmarie, Erin and Jackie and her newest addition, grandson, JR.

 

Amy Deren-Milgrim
Chief Financial Officer

Amy comes to Acuity as CFO with a diverse finance and management background. She began her career as a healthcare consultant with a nationally recognized firm concentrating her practice on financial feasibility studies and strategic planning. More recently she served as the Executive Director for a local community foundation closely overseeing the foundation’s assets including the finance and investing functions as well as serving as the primary relationship and development professional. Amy holds a BA in Psychology and Community Medicine from the University of Rochester, MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and finally earning her MBA concentrating in Accounting from Drexel University, enabling her to become a CPA. She has two adult daughters, Jayne and Lindsay, and she and her husband, Art, split their time between Cherry Hill and Margate, New Jersey. An avid sailor, she can be found racing with the Ocean City Yacht Club most Friday nights in the summer. She is also a dedicated environmental protection advocate, loves to garden, and enjoys surrounding herself with assorted furry friends!

William Adams, DO
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Adams has been a practicing pulmonologist with Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey since November 2011. In 2013, he was promoted to Chief Medical Officer. He is professionally equipped and affiliated with board certification in internal medicine and board eligibility in pulmonary medicine. Dr. Adams received his undergraduate degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey [UMDNJ]. He has practiced with both Kennedy and Lourdes Health Systems, and currently serves as a staff pulmonologist at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, NJ. Acuity is proud of Dr. Adams’ regional roots and commitment to excellence in pulmonary critical care.

Maria Ciro
Vice President, Human Resources

Maria is responsible for all disciplines of Acuity Healthcare’s Human Resources including recruitment and onboarding, compensation and benefits, payroll, employee relations and workers compensation.  She works collaboratively with the Acuity Healthcare leadership and clinical teams inspiring them to have a more universal approach to managing employee performance and development.

With a Bachelor’s of Science in Hospitality and Institutional Management from Pennsylvania State University, Maria began her career in the Atlantic City casino industry. She has focused her career on healthcare and education. She also works as an adjunct professor of General Management and Human Resources at Atlantic Cape Community College.

Rebecca Johnson, MBA, BSN, RN, CNRN
Chief Clinical Officer

Rebecca joined Acuity Specialty Hospital in 2019 as the Chief Clinical Officer. Prior to joining the team, she served as the Nurse Clinical Manager of Trauma Critical Care in the Trauma/Neuro resuscitation area with AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Rebecca has more than 15 years of clinical experience. She began her nursing career in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit in 2005 working at the bedside and in the Trauma/Neuro receiving area. In 2013 She became the Clinical Manager and embarked on her leadership journey. Over the past 7 years, she has led her ICU team through many healthcare challenges and obtained many high quality clinical outcomes with a focus on the reduction of hospital acquired infections. She has participated and led many performance improvement projects over the course of her career, and has presented this work at the AACN regional trends nursing conference and through the Quality Improvement Organization.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University and earned her Master of Business Administration from Stockton University in 2017. She lives in Southern New Jersey with her husband Chris Rauner, their son Zane and Weimaraner dog named Loki. On her time off she loves to be outdoors, traveling, and playing sports.

Kristi Forvour, RN
Director of Provider Relations

Kristi Forvour, RN, received her degree at Helene Fuld School of Nursing. Kristi has been working at Acuity Specialty Hospital of New Jersey since 2012. Before becoming the Director of Provider Relations, she was a Clinical Liaison.  She also worked as a critical care floor nurse at Acuity and a team leader. Kristi’s experience has afforded her exceptional knowledge related to critically ill patients, and excellent relationships with Physicians and other clinicians. Kristi is an extremely proud mother of 3 beautiful children. In her spare time, Kristi enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and getting in as many beach days as possible.

Saundra McCarthy, LPN, has 10 years of work experience with HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospitals of Largo, FL and Vineland, NJ. Her experience has afforded her exceptional knowledge related to physician and public relations, business development, sales and marketing. She also volunteers for various non-profit organizations. Saundra is very busy outside of work keeping up with and caring for her twin 5 year old daughters.

Sabina G. Booker, MS, MBA received her BA in Psychology from Rutgers University, MS in Interdisciplinary Health Science with a concentration in Pharmacology and Biochemistry from Drexel University College of Medicine, and her MBA in Marketing from Montclair State University. She has 10 years of work experience with post-acute patient assessments, physician relationship management, and business development. Her experience has afforded her exceptional knowledge related to health care branding, physician and public relations, marketing and strategic business growth. Sabina is a proud parent of 3 children – her oldest daughter is a college honors student at TCNJ, and she has a 3 year old daughter and 2 year old son at home. In her spare time, Sabina enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, fishing, going to the beach, and is an avid foodie!

Kelly Bowman | Manager of Managed Care

Kelly Bowman, LPN, worked as a bedside nurse in the Long Term Care environment. During that time, Kelly was afforded many opportunities to further her knowledge and leadership skills. She held various positions including Staff Educator, Infection Control Nurse, and Assistant Director of Nursing. Kelly is a proud parent of 4 children- 3 adult kids and 1 very precocious 5 year old. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys attending country music concerts and spending time at the beach.

Abby has been a part of the Acuity team for nine years. During her tenure, she has supported opening our hospital in Atlantic City, served as the Director of Marketing, a Clinical Liaison, the Managed Care/Admissions Manager, and promoted to Regional Director of Provider Relations. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health; Health Policy and Management from Emory University in Atlanta and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Communications and Marketing from James Madison University in Virginia. She lives in Little Egg Harbor with her husband and three boys. She enjoys teaching boot camp classes at her gym, fishing and hiking with her sons and relaxing at the beach.
