Patient Takes Time to Thank Jefferson Therapists in Cherry Hill (SNJToday.com)
CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Many in the healthcare industry spend hours with patients and they never get to see just how far that hard work takes the person.
But Monday, December 18th, was different for staff at the Physical Therapy team at Jefferson Health in Cherry Hill and nurses from Acuity Special Hospital of New Jersey in Atlantic City, as they got to see the difference they made in one person’s life.
Four years ago a severe headache changed Shani Pitts’ life forever.
“They told me that they didn’t think she was going to live,” said Jennifer Robinson, Pitts’ mother.
Pitts was suffering from Dysautonomia, a condition where one’s autonomic nervous system doesn’t work properly, and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, an intense attack of swelling in her brain and spinal cord.
Her condition eventually put her in a coma.
